Phantom Blade Zero characters and character creation

Updated 2026-10-16. Checked 2026-10-16.

Soul is the named protagonist in the official story, rather than a player-created lead. No character-creation system is advertised in the checked official material as of October 16, 2026. That absence is not a definitive statement about every customization option in the final game.

Only characters supported by developer material or identified preview coverage appear below. Outfit customization and creating a new character are different features.

People the promos have named

The official August 12 pre-order announcement identifies Donnie Yen as Mó Yuan, leader of the Bastion of Mó, and credits facial and motion capture plus creative consultation since 2023. This does not establish a voice-acting credit in every language.

Shacknews' October 8 preview identifies The Hunt and sword fanatic Hua Qianxiao. Their inclusion is preview reporting, not a complete character roster. A full launch voice cast is not verified.

Who does Donnie Yen play?

Mó Yuan. The official announcement specifically credits facial and motion capture and his creative-consultant role, not Soul.
